The Central Workshop has all
the conventional trade shops required for regular curriculum. In recent years it has been extensively
modernized to cater to the needs of fabrication work
involved in students projects and has a very modern
Metrology Laboratory for precision measurements. An
automobile service station has been recently added to the
workshop which helps not only in giving demonstration/
training to the students, helps in resource generation to
some extent to the institution.
The Central Library has a rich
collection of all kinds of text books and reference books
related to various subjects of studies of the engineering
as well as applied science courses being run at the
institute. A number of important scientific and technical
journals are being subscribed to. The Library also
extends a Book Bank Service to needy students,
particularly of reserved categories.

Engineering
Associations and Vigyan - Takniki Parishad
All the Engineering Departments
have formed Engineering Associations of their respective
branches to encourage students to participate in
professional activities so as to be better able to cope
with the work environment they will step in to, after
passing out. These societies conduct tours and organized lectures by experienced professionals, seminars and
workshops etc. in important fields related to respective
branches.
A Vigyan-Takniki Parishad with
a wide membership, has been founded a few years back for
coordinated inter-disciplinary work. It has recently
started publishing the SATI journal of Science &
Technology, a research journal planned to be published as
a Quarterly with a national base.
The Institute also has the following local chapters of

Campus Facilities
The following
facilities are available in the college campus.
A registered
cooperative stores exists in the campus which co-ordinates the
management of Hostel messes and supplies books and other items of
utility at reasonable rates.
A full-fledged
branch of Central Bank of India exists inside the campus
providing good banking facilities to staff as well as students.
Every student has to open a Bank Account as all payments to any
student or other person is made by college only through an
Account Payee cheque. A post office also functions in the campus
A dispensary
providing students and staff with basic medicine facilities has
been set up in the campus with a qualified compounder. Services
of a consultant Doctor are also available.
An STD (PCO)
located in the college campus near the students hostels caters to
the needs of the students and the faculty and their families
residing in the campus.
Other Facilities
- Identity
Cards are issued to every student after admission to
the Institute which he is required to carry always on
person when in the Institute campus. A student will
have to present his Identity Card when demanded by
any officer of the Institute. Students are also
advised to carry their Identity Cards outside the
campus also as it may help them in an odd situation.
The Identity Card is required to be deposited back to
the Institute office when the student leaves the
Institute.
- Railway
Concession under rules of the Indian Railways is
provided to students when traveling to and from
their home town for vacations but it is allowed only
for the place given by the student as his permanent
address at the time of admission. A student can,
however, inform any change in his permanent place of
residence subsequently. No claim for change shall be
accepted at the time of issue of the concession.
Railway concession is also available for educational
tours/project tours arranged or sponsored by the
Institute.
